A quick click over to nextcanada.wordpress.com gives one a sense of the quality, if not the quantity of work Marina Jamieson has done since joining Next.

Her latest editorial comes courtesy of Paris-based Torontonian Karen Roze (www.karenroze.com), in Schön! Magazine (U.K.).

The 5'10" brunette also appeared in the last issue of Elle Canada, and the past three Flare Magazines.

Looking back on the same February article we referenced yesterday, there was another Québecoise also noted for her impressive showing.

This season, Chantal Stafford-Abbott is on fire!

Starting with Fashion's Night Out and progressing through 20 more New York shows, the 5'10" redhead then flew to London where the likes of Paul Smith, Mulberry, Acne and Christopher Kane enlisted her services.

Milan Fashion Week is now underway, where the Specs model has already confirmed Maurizio Pecoraro, Ermanno Scervino, Krizia and Marras.

A couple weeks ago - just before Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicked off in New York, in fact - Modelresource spotted this post on Style.com predicting a strong season for former Modelresource Featured Model Anaïs Pouliot.

Forgiving the fact the author confuses French for French Canadian, we proudly chirped about it anyway, from Modelresource's Twitter account.

Not that this is the Folio model's breakout season - in fact we were telling you about her strong showing in the FW2010 shows as well.

Nevertheless, Pouliot (with Trump in New York), more than lived up to Style.com's forecast, walking in about a dozen New York shows - among them: Charlotte Ronson, Cynthia Steffe, Lacoste, Peter Som, Milly - before heading to London for several more.

Also, check out the doll-like Lachenaie, Québec native in the Dossier story "Travels With My Aunt," photographed by Chadwick Tyler (www.chadwicktyler.com).

Another Mode model we're now tracking with a bit more regularity is Lowell Tautchin.

The 6'2" Edmontonian just completed his first set of shows in New York (with Major), where he walked for Richard Chai and Rad Hourani.

More impressively, the former lifeguard shot Hommes+ in Paris two weeks ago.

NEW FACE ALERT

The latest Canadian to watch for on the international runways is Mode's Cole Tusznio.

A 5'10", green-eyed brunette from Vancouver - placed with the IMG worldwide - just finished her first season in New York, walking such runways as Jill Stuart, Charlotte Ronson and Rodarte.

We're told she's off to Europe now, where bigger things await.

Stay tuned...

If you notice a lot of Next models working in B.C., there's a good reason for that.

After five years of tireless scouting on the West Coast, Next opened its newest office this month in Vancouver's stylish Gastown district.

To kick things off, the agency showcased much of its roster at an invitation-only fashion show, along with Aveda, Fluevog and local design favourite 212.

But long before the lease was signed, names like Stephanie Shiu, Tiera (who was featured earlier this year donning 212's collection in Nylon Magazine), Madison, Alicia, Lauren, Snejina, Alex and Britt were already getting a lot of attention, with a string of up-and-comers also in active development.

That roster was complemented two weeks ago with the addition of Anna Feller (mother agency: Chantale Nadeau) who will be in Vancouver until at least December.

Modelresource Contributor (and West Van native) Laura Kell (mother agent: CoverModels) stuck around for the big opening before returning to school in Ottawa. Her latest tearsheets, shot in Vancouver, appear in the new issue of Z!NK Canada.

Also appearing in Z!NK are Next Vancouver's Britt & Alex, while Lauren and Madison appear separately in Vancouver Fashion eZine.

Tia, meanwhile, is appearing across the country in the new ad campaign for Joneve.

Of course, a lot of credit for this office goes to the success of Kelsey Van Mook, who was discovered by Next's Corey Mann at Park Royal Shopping Centre just a few short years ago, and has already gone on to become one of this country's top models. The 18-year-old has opened for Givenchy in Paris, been featured as the first face of the French fashion house's fragrance "Dance," and appeared on the cover of Australian Vogue.

The newest online mag in the Canadian fashion webosphere comes courtesy of two of the well established names in Toronto's everchanging industry.

Juliana Schiavinatto - one of the most brilliant stylists in the country - teamed up with the multi-talented Arkan Zakharov (www.arkanphoto.com) to deliver something really quite spectacular in its simplicity.

There premiere issue of Pulp Magazine features just five well-edited editorials that aren't hidden behind articles about beat poets, graffiti artists and "B-List" Hollywood types.

I like this, and am looking forward to seeing whether a broader range of contributors participates in Issue II.
