As with every fashion week in Toronto, some aspects I look forward to more than others, and the only thing one can really count on is the unexpected. Cliché, but true.
The most pleasant surprise last year (I've said it about a thousand times now) was the inaugural Women X Women exhibit, shining a light on some of this country's brightest photographic talent (irrespective of gender).
Last month Modelresource gave you an intentionally lame look behind the scenes of the WxW shoot orchestrated by Lindsey Drennan (www.lindseydrennan.com).
Now, with the date closer at hand, and having had my hands on the promo book (I just bumped into Lily & Lilac, who just received a nicely printed and bound, hardcover copy) I can display a few more images captured that day; a bit more flavour of what you can expect next week.
Ford's Jenna Judd, who - aside from being breathtakingly beautiful - is one of the most articulate, pleasant and interesting people I know.
Next's Nicole Sandalis, who has been remarkably busy since starting in May, and is now three weeks away from her first overseas stint in Tokyo. Shown below is the gorgeous Cape Breton blonde in two images from the new FEMME campaign, shot recently in Montréal.
Women x Women will end LG Fashion Week in the Thrush Holmes Empire Art Gallery (1093 Queen St. W.) with an exhibition open to the public on Friday, April 2nd, from 11:00 to 5:00.
The Advocates, organizers of WxW, have also cleverly pieced together a couple of videos documenting the coming together of this season's photo shoots. Check those out on their YouTube Channel.
