W's Samantha Rayner
Here's a girl I've been tracking since Modelresource contributing panelist Owen Bruce first drew my attention to her many months back.

Now, I have the perfect opportunity to share her.

Samantha Rayner, from Vancouver's W Management ended last week by shooting V Magazine in Paris with photographer Mark Pillai.

Her New York agent, Christopher Michael of New York Models tells Modelresource the 5'11", green-eyed blonde is now back in Manhattan, where editorial and advertising options have been pouring in.

The focus shifts to Québec today, as Montréal Fashion Week gets underway.

One of the girls Modelresource is anxious to hear about is Ryan Martel who just signed with DNA before the long weekend.

The 15-year-old Folio model is one of those we expect to be hearing a lot more about in the years to come, and are already starting to see often in print.

Charlotte Le Bon,
by Ishi
A quick flip through the pages of the newest issue of Flare reveals the latest colloborations between Folio and Ishi.

Charlotte Le Bon and Marie-Éve Nadeau each have editorials in the current edition.

And if that wasn't enough for Nadeau, she also found her way into Elle Canada, in a story by Leda & St-Jacques.

Chantale Nadeau new face Kai
Toronto has at its fingertips an emormous pool of modelling talent right now; a fact that makes castings very difficult, but shows that much better.

Two weeks ago I reviewed more than 600 forays down mock runways, during 13 hours of castings. Some girls I saw as many as three times, but definitely more than 300 different females were seen in that week.

For those models that are waiting to learn their fate, I can only say that decisions are still being made. Some models were still just getting in to town last week, while others just started appearing on the casting radar.

One of those new models worth the wait for me, is Kai - a 17-year-old, 5'10" new face that Chantale Nadeau debuted at her showcase Thursday evening at the Distillery District.

I was on the fence as to whether I write about her before the shows, or wait for the runway debut, but I couldn't contain my enthusiasm any longer. This girl has the whole package (great skin, straight teeth, composure, personality...), and I want to be the first to have written about her, but I'm pretty damn sure many, many will follow.

There is an enormous amount of talent under the Chantale Nadeau's umbrella, and it was very much on display last week in a stylish little affair that featured dozens of girls in pink shirts and denim mingling with local & international scouts, photographers (including Hamish Kippen, who recorded the event through his lens) and other local industry types.

L'Oréal Fashion Week is now one week away, so lineups are being finalized. Chantale Nadeau just made it more difficult.

Folio's Charlotte Le Bon
Folio is celebrating the re-launch of their website, which went live Wednesday, and gives users more and smoother access to images like the one on the left, of Charlotte Le Bon.

The green-eyed brunette is in Paris for three months (with Viva), but on the cover of both the French and English versions of the current LOU LOU.

Folio is also unveiling the new image of their F2 (classic female) Division, under the direction of Madame Mai (a.k.a. Mai Tran, who holds the phone in the photo below).

The image was captured by booker/photographer Donat Boulerice, who was assisted by model/photographer Alex de Brabant.

Quite the in-house production!

Danielle (Corestone)
It must be an exciting time to be in Beijing right now, as preparations for this summer's Olympic games frantically near completion.

One Canadian model experiencing it firsthand is Corestone's Danielle.

Between runway appearances for the likes of Dior and Celine, the brown-eyed brunette is busy collecting tears in the Chinese capital.

You may have noticed that despite passing on the shows this season, Cate Chant still managed to jump a spot on the Modelresource ranking of top models.

Undoubtedly the release of her new tears from Vogue Italia had something to do with that.

The 17-year-old Chantale Nadeau model is stalked across 20+ pages of the fashion industry bible by Switzerland's Noreen Carmody.
