Modelresource loves Michelle Valencourt. Although she has every reason to have her head in the clouds, she's incredibly grounded and extremely pleasant. In fact, of all the models with whom we have spoken - and there have been many - none has been more bubbly (not to be confused with ditzy – her marks are in the high 80s and 90s, and she speaks with a maturity beyond her 17 years).
A few years ago, International Model Management's Michèle Miller launched the sharp-featured teen on an unsuspecting fashion world and the model immediately turned heads. Despite tasting success and jet-setting around the globe however, the nearly 5'10" beauty shelved her career and returned home to finish high school. At one point Jessica Stam lived with the Michelle and the Valencourt family, while the two teens attended the same high school.
Modelresource first met Michelle in Toronto, where she is represented by Giovanni Model Management. It was L'Oreal Fashion Week and Michelle was featured in several of the bigger shows. A very strong presence on the runway, she is also a total sweetheart backstage, so although we couldn't co-ordinate an interview at the time, modelresource made its intentions clear to meet up with her the following month.
Now, just weeks from graduation, Michelle is preparing to re-enter a life of castings, callbacks and catwalks. Modelresource spoke with Ms. Valencourt at the 12th Annual International Model Management Cover Model Search in Barrie.
