Sitting on the bus for a seemingly endless 10 - 12 hours must be viewed as a time to reflect, yes. This is "me time." If I looked at it any other rational way I'd go crazy.

My name is Robin and this is my life.

I'm sitting on an overnight bus to NY, thinking to myself "here I go again." I'm getting used to the bumpy lumbering of this overnight beast, the double-decker Mega Bus which boasts free wifi and power outlets, but they rarely work. The only perk I can think of in choosing this mode of transportation is that it takes you from the heart of downtown Toronto to the heart of New York. That and it's the consistently most affordable trip (take the overnight bus to save on a hotel, bonus!)

The heart of New York, beating with the pulse of millions. I can feel it calling me with every mile we consume, the desire to thrive in that city is all consuming. It's like a turbulent meditation on the way down, all the hopes and expectations of what's possible in the big city swim in my mind as I pretend to sleep in the company of 64 other passengers. I feel like Dorothy when I wake up after such a long ride, a stranger in a colourful city full of wonder. I will follow this road, never to forget there's no place like home!

I started going to NY in January, after signing with a boutique agency called Code Management. I've always dreamed of living and working in both Toronto and NY, and now I'm realizing my dreams. Only the reality of it is it's not as glamorous as I hoped! Any model will testify this aint no fancy way to live. For me it comes down to what I'm willing to spend investing in the possibility of big jobs vs what it takes away from my life. I'm still finding balance. And for now, I ride the bus.
